Qualitative & Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA)

Qualitative Risk Assessments and Quantitative Risk Assessments are specialised methods for calculating risks to individuals, public (societal risk), the environment and/or assets. As part of the formal safety assessment required in the project HSE management, a QRA is highly demanded by our clients to identify major accident hazards and reduce the significant risk contributor according to the As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) principle.

MES has extensive experience in providing QRAs for normal operations and SIMOPS with other value added analyses to assist our clients in decision making to achieve ALARP within their proposed project CAPEX/OPEX. The MES team is able to effectively:

  • Identify process and non-process hazards associated with the facility or operation
  • Conduct frequency and consequence analyses
  • Conduct risk analysis and risk assessment
  • Recommend risk reduction and mitigation measures

MES can provide the following comprehensive studies and solutions:

  • Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) for onshore and offshore facilities
  • Offshore/Onshore Pipeline QRA
  • Miscellaneous Risk Assessments (eg. Temporary Buildings, Transportation, etc.)
  • Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) Risk Assessment
  • Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA)
  • ALARP Assessment

MES uses client proprietary softwares and approved MES in-house consequence modelling and risk tools. Click here to find out more about our bespoke in-house softwares and how they may assist you.
