For asset-intensive industries, performance depends on reliability. MES helps clients manage ageing assets, optimise asset integrity programmes, and reduce integrity-related production losses, waste and environmental impact. As Project Manager of OREDA (industry’s reference reliability database), MES brings authoritative, industry-reference reliability data to integrity and maintenance decisions.
What we do
- Asset integrity management systems: AIMS development, audits and maturity assessment within asset-management frameworks such as ISO 55000
- Predictive and condition-based maintenance (PdM/CBM): Using condition monitoring, failure-rate data and analytics to predict degradation and intervene before failure, optimising maintenance around actual asset health
- Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM) and criticality: RCM, Equipment Criticality Assessment (ECA) and FMECA, identifying single points of failure and the critical equipment that most affects safety and production
- CMMS-ready deliverables: Maintenance plans, job plans and spare-parts optimisation, ready for upload to SAP PM, IBM Maximo and similar systems
- Spare parts management and optimisation: Spare-parts criticality, interchangeability and obsolescence studies, balancing inventory cost against availability and lead-time risk through reliability-driven optimisation
- Maintenance and inspection regime optimisation: Developing and verifying maintenance, inspection and testing for critical equipment
- Risk-Based Inspection (RBI): Inspection strategies and plans for equipment, piping, pipelines and structures
- Corrosion and materials engineering: Corrosion management frameworks, control barriers, material selection, Integrity Operating Windows and Written Scheme of Examination
- Fitness-for-service and life extension: FFS (including Level 3 FEA), residual-life and life-extension assessment
- Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM): Availability modelling, Weibull analysis and failure-rate determination
- Failure-data analytics: MTBF/MTTR analysis and asset registers structured to ISO 14224, drawing on OREDA reliability data
- Root cause and bad-actor management: RCA including CFD simulations and targeted reliability improvement for underperforming equipment
Typical outcomes
- Critical equipment and single points of failure identified and managed
- Failure and safety risks at ALARP level while supporting production and availability targets
- Higher plant availability
- Maintenance targeted by predicted asset condition, not fixed schedules
- Reduced unplanned shutdowns
- Improved production
- Lower lifecycle costs
- Extended asset health/life
- Improved return on capital
